Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental condition characterized by initial difficulties in social interaction and communication, as well as limited and repetitive behaviors and interests. Laws are crucial instruments to combat inequalities, acting as essential tools in guaranteeing fundamental rights and providing dignified means of protection and special treatment. The choice of the theme "Means of Implementing the Continuous Benefit Payment for Autistic People" was made for a personal reason and also for its social relevance. The objective of this study is to research the difficulties in accessing welfare benefits, more specifically, the BPC, for people with autism spectrum disorder. The methodology adopted was bibliographic research that used databases such as Google Scholar, Scielo and Science Direct, using the keywords: Autism; Continuous Benefit Payment (BPC); LAW 12.764. The survey was limited to articles published between 2019 and 2024. The development explores the Characterization of Autism Spectrum Disorder; Criteria for Granting the Continuous Benefit Payment to Autistic Children; and Analysis of the diagnostic context of ASD based on Law 12,764. Therefore, the implementation of the BPC for people with ASD still faces significant barriers, reflecting structural and operational challenges of the social assistance system in Brazil. It is necessary to simplify the procedures for requesting and evaluating the benefit, with the digitalization of processes and the creation of accessible platforms for monitoring the stages.
