MILITARIZATION OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS, RETROCESSO OF AFFIRMATIVE POLICIES: AN ANALYSIS FROM THE STATE OF ART
Abstract
This study deals with the militarization of public schools and the regression of affirmative policies. The aim was to identify and learn about the discussion on the militarization of public schools, affirmative policies and how this model of education meets the requirements of the 1988 Federal Constitution and the 1996 Education Guidelines and Bases Law, supported by scientific production in the field of educational policies. This is a qualitative, bibliographical, state-of-the-art study to identify and understand the incidence of discussion on the subject in scientific production in the area of human rights and public educational policies in Brazil. We identified scientific production through Capes/MEC and the SciELO Library, by mapping the period 2019-2023. As a result, we obtained, through the number of works found and related to the theme, the originality of the research by the category: affirmative policies. The research showed that the descriptors that relate to this study are being researched in a fragmented way. We confirmed the hypothesis that the militarization of public schools is related to the regression of affirmative policies in Brazil. However, we conclude that affirmative action to promote racial equality gives new meaning to the struggle for the right to education in Brazil. However, we conclude that affirmative action to promote racial equality gives new meaning to the fight for the right to education in Brazil. Therefore, it is necessary to understand that we still have a long way to go, as we can see the seriousness of the situation in which individuals who do not belong to the conditions imposed (black, poor and with low levels of education) will be more susceptible to dropping out of school and entering the prison system.
